BUSINESS MANAGER
The City of Winooski is seeking an experienced, part time Business Manager/Treasurer to manage the financial and human resource function in the City. We are looking for a person with at least five years experience in management with a general understanding of employment law and an ability to understand standard financial reports and accounting standards. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office package, an accounting software application, and be have the proven ability to quickly learn new software systems.
As Treasurer, the incumbent will be responsible to the City Council for all financial information for the City, including , assuring that the City Council has a clear understanding of the financial position of the City at all times. S/he will also work with the City Manager, Department Heads, Staff Accountant, and Bookkeeper to develop, maintain, and assure compliance with procedures for human resources, payroll, and finance.
The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of effectively relating to all levels of an organization and the general public. Experience as a creative problem solver who can implement change effectively is highly desired. The ideal candidate will also have excellent writing and presentation skills.
Salary will start between $30 and $35 per hour.

COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR
The City of Winooski is seeking an experienced, full time Community Services Director to provide leadership and coordinate all of the City’s community-centered services including the O’Brien Community Center, the Senior Center, the Library, and the YMCA for recreation programs. The focus of the first year of the job will be exclusively on the O’Brien Community Center. Candidate should demonstrate the ability to work with multiple generations, diverse populations, and in teams with other city and community service providers.
The incumbent will have responsibility for coordination with the school to ensure effective program offerings for youth, including after school and summer programs (K – 5), middle school and teen center activities. Direct oversight of the O’Brien Community Center facility, recruitment of volunteers, and coordination of programs with other service providers is expected.
The incumbent will have significant leadership experience in the non-profit sector and have a track record of fund raising to support programs. Experience and demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams of service providers is essential. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate a focus on results and the ability to validate both the need for programs and the results of those efforts.
Starting salary will be between $45,000 and $55,000 depending upon qualifications.
