SKATEPARK RULES

 

The skatepark is a skate-at-your-own-risk facility, designed for skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX biking only.

 

No motorized vehicles or other wheeled devices allowed with the skatepark.

 

Skateboarding, in-line skating, and BMX biking is a high-risk activity.  Wearing a helmet, proper footwear, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards is strongly recommended and should be used at all times.

 

Inspect the surfaces before you ride them.  Remove all trash, debris, and objects that may prevent a smooth, safe ride. Report any damage to the Recreation Division at 802-655-6410 x 21.

 

Skating when wet, raining, or during routine maintenance is prohibited.

 

The skatepark will be open during the posted hours.  The City of Winooski’s no-trespassing ordinance will be enforced after the park is closed.

 

Graffiti in the skatepark is illegal and removal will necessitate closing.

 

This park has been designed for all skill levels.  Be courteous to other park patrons.

 

No competitive or demonstration events are allowed without prior approval of the Parks and Recreation Department.

 

The following are prohibited:  Pets, Littering, Glass Containers, Food and Beverages, Alcoholic Beverages, Vending, Except by permit, Radios or Boom Boxes. This is a substance-free facility.

 

Do not proceed down a ramp until it is clear of other skaters.

 

Any unruly actions such as fighting and swearing are prohibited.  Disruptive, dangerous, or detrimental behavior will not be tolerated.

 

No other items such as benches, tables, wood materials, or other objects used as ramps or jumps are allowed in the skatepark.  No modifications to existing ramps are permitted.

 

Failure to comply with the rules may result in suspension and/or prosecution by law at the discretion of the Winooski parks and Recreation Department.
