Our mission is to provide a safe environment for all citizens within the City limits. Along with this we will train and educate the citizens to better prevent fires from occurring before the fact rather than after!

The primary mission of the Department is the suppression of fire within the City of Winooski and to respond to other incidents as required.

Protection of life within the City of Winooski and surrounding communities as dictated through mutual aid agreements established by the Department.

Establish and administer a Public Safety Education program for the children and elderly residents of the City. The purpose of this program will be to increase awareness of the dangers of fire and to foster prevention techniques within the community.

Act as the focal point to provide awareness education in the area of Hazardous Materials Response. In conjunction with other agencies of the City develop and administer a response protocol to be utilized in the event of a Hazardous Material Incident.
