The Winooski Fire Department trains two evenings each month. Our. training consists of basic firefighting techniques to new and improved skills and tactics. Each year all members are required to re-certify in the following areas:
First Aid, CPR, Vehicle Operations, Blood borne Pathogens, Terrorism,
Hazardous Material Op's., SCBA safety, search & rescue, and the Incident Management System. Also, all members are required to re-certify their driving skills and operation of each piece of department apparatus. Members are required to attend one or more outside school, course or workshop each year.

The training program of the Winooski Fire Department is continually being evaluated, updated and changing with the times.
